Kathmandu: The Government of Nepal has announced a hike in petroleum product prices following a revised purchase rate from Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), its sole supplier.
According to Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), the price of petrol has been increased by Rs 1 per liter, while the prices of diesel and kerosene have gone up by Rs 2 per liter. The new rates will come into effect from midnight on Sunday.
The prices of other petroleum products, including LPG and aviation fuel, remain unchanged.
NOC stated that the revision was necessary after receiving a new price list from IOC reflecting global price changes, and to manage the ongoing losses in the domestic market. The corporation adjusts fuel prices regularly based on international market trends and procurement rates from India.
